Local business changing hands

Don King, owner of Michlig AgriCenter, Inc. based in Manlius, is announcing the sale of its agronomy division to Crop Production Services, or CPS, a subsidiary of Agrium, Inc. CPS has purchased and will operate all of the Michlig Ag agronomy facilities located in Manlius, Walnut, Cambridge and Franklin Grove. Agronomy is a branch of agriculture that deals with field crop production and soil management. King says it’s time for him to move on.  Steven Michlig, King’s brother-in-law, announced earlier that he and his wife Dawn purchased the fuel and propane division of Michlig AgriCenter and named it Michlig Energy.  King says his future plans include a little traveling and possibly starting a new business.
