Some concern over PES budget
At last night’s PES Board meeting the board approved a tentative budget and set the Budget Hearing at 6:45 p.m. on September 26th. Superintendent Tim Smith says the major issue is reduced revenue. Reviewing the current financial situation, Smith stated that as of today, the state owes the school a grand total of 326 thousand, 217 dollars for fiscal year 2011. But, Smith said, in terms of what’s owed, the district is a little ahead of what was owed in fiscal year 2010. In other business, the Women of the Moose have offered to help the school district any way they can. They will be holding a fundraiser on Oct. 29th from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in conjunction with P.E.S. Plays, a group of parents working to improve school playgrounds. The money raised will go towards purchasing new playground equipment.
And the following personnel were hired: Tracy Newberry, Bright Beginnings aide; Mary D’Ambrosia, one-on-one aide at Jefferson; Margo Cartwright and Christa Gruber, Kindergarten teachers at Jefferson; Stacy Cherry, half time Bright Beginnings teacher; Nicole Bradford, part-time Language Arts Teacher at Logan; Amy Thompson, special education aide at Jefferson; Doug Sopher and Jenna Smith, one-on-one aides at Lincoln; and Don Mall, teacher’s aide at Lincoln.
