Peru man top finisher in Underground Railroad 5K Race

A Peru man is the top overall finisher in the Underground Railroad's 5K run, held in conjunction with the Homestead Festival.  Tom Smith had the top time of 18:28.  Joe Bornac of La Salle was second overall, followed by Zack Kiefer of Princeton.  The top female finisher was Deann Underwood of Princeton with a time of 22:40.  The first male and female runners from Princeton to cross the finish line were Kiefer with a time of 18:54 and Abby Griggs with a time of 20:00.  A total of 207 runners and walkers took part in Saturday morning's race, despite the threat of rain.  The race was sponsored by WZOE/Z-98 and the Princeton Park District.
