Smoke but no fire at Citizens Princeton North Branch

There are no injuries, only a few frayed nerves as the result of an incident yesterday at Citizens First National Bank’s north branch in Princeton.  Apparently someone inside the bank noticed smoke and dialed 9-1-1.  Princeton Fire Chief John Petrakis says firefighters arrived at around noon, as Citizens employees were evacuating across the street to the Burger King lot.  Firefighters entered the building and noticed a strange odor, but no smoke or fire.  A ladder was extended to the roof where they were met by a contractor doing air-handling work on the scene.  That’s when they determined the cause of the smoke and the smell.  Petrakis determined it was the oil from the new air-handling system.  As they turned the new air-handlers on, in caused friction and a little heat.  The smoke got into the h-vac system, which the contractor says is completely normal, but it created a little smoke scare on the inside.  Petrakis emphasized that there was no fire and no injuries from the incident.
