Man turns himself in for stealing charity jar from Sheffield Casey’s

The man who swiped a donation jar from the Casey’s General Store in Sheffield turned himself in yesterday afternoon, according to Bureau County Sheriff John Thompson.  28-year old Andrew Noriega of Davenport, Iowa was charged with theft $500 and under for an offense that occurred at 9 pm on December 16th, according to the arrest report.  The jar Noriega is accused of taking from the counter at Casey’s was filled with an unknown amount of donations for playground equipment at Veterans Park in Sheffield.  No money was recovered, according to Thompson.
