IVCC could be seeing a nearly 10 percent tuition hike

You may be paying more to attend Illinois Valley Community College.  The IVCC Audit and Finance Committee this week voted to support an $8.25 tuition increase, saying the hike would help absorb a projected drop in enrollment and stagnant property taxes.  If you consider built-in technology and student activities fees, the increase is actually 9.9 percent.  The new tuition would be just over 84-dollars, up from the current 76.  That’s still the lowest tuition rate of all junior colleges in the state.  The full board will vote on the resolution on February 21st.
