Starved Rock State Park breaks all-time attendance record

As Starved Rock State Park celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2011, an all-time attendance record was broken with nearly 2.2 million visitors. Marketing Director Kathy Casstevens credits IDOT and the affordability of the Park for the increase.  Casstevens also said the LaSalle County Tourism staff focused on promoting winter and the beauty of Starved Rock, which paid off since monthly attendance records were broken in both January and December of

2011. Winter activities are being promoted again this year, especially the Eagle Watch Weekend planned for January 28 and 29.
