Power outages strike Ameren and Corn Belt customers in 3-county area
Power has been fully restored for Bureau, Henry and Stark counties after a power outage Thursday afternoon left portions of all three counties without power for Ameren and Corn Belt customers. At the peak of the outages, Cornbelt Energy reported 1,400 coop members without power due to a transmission line failure to five substations in the three-county area. Ameren spokesperson Leigh Morris said the substation on the east side of Kewanee
plus five others knocked out power to 2,025 customers in Bureau County and 1,430 customers in Henry County. Morris says the outage began at 3:10 pm, with the power being fully restored by 4:40 pm.
