Logan Jr. High has a geography bee winner
Logan Jr. High School Principal J.D. Orwig announced the Geography Bee Winners at last night’s PES Board meeting. Dominic Bigg was the overall Champion, Cody Workman received second place and Chaz Williams got third. Bigg now takes a Regional Test and, depending on the results, will go on to the next level. In his financial report, Superintendent Tim Smith said that as of yesterday, the state owes PES over 854-thousand dollars. Smith said “We’re trying to cut expenses but the state keeps passing unfunded mandates that we have to pay for. We’re doing well on the expense side; it’s the revenue side that’s failing us.” Smith also announced two upcoming fundraising events. The PES Plays fundraiser of dinner, games, auctions and a raffle, will take
place on February 4th at 5:30 p.m. at the Underground Inn. Cost is $25 per person or $140 for a reserved table for six. For more information go to PESplays.com. And the Princeton Public Schools Foundation will hold their 3rd Annual Trivia Night on February 18 at the Metro Center. Tickets are $15 per person which can be purchased at Citizens First National Bank or any PPSF board member. Dinner begins at 5:30 and the Trivia Contest starts at 7.
