Firefighters called to Ooh La La
Everyone is safe after a fire at a Princeton business. Princeton firefighters were called out at 3:25 yesterday afternoon to a fire at the Ooh La La Hair Salon at 225 N. Main Street. Fire Chief John Petrakis says firefighters noticed heavy smoke in the house’s attic, as they entered the rear of the building. They encountered intense heat and smoke on the second story going into the attic. Petrakis says the fire was controlled within 15 minutes. He says the building was not occupied at the
time of the fire and says no firefighters were injured battling the blaze. North Main between Farnham and Washington Streets was closed for a couple of hours as firefighters did their work. Petrakis says the fire caused an estimated $125,000 in damage to the building and its contents. The building is owned by Ray and Sherie Swanson of Princeton. The cause of the fire remains undetermined but Petrakis says it appears to be accidental in nature.
