Longtime Peru grocery store closing

A longtime grocery store in Peru is closing.  A spokesperson with Jewel’s parent company says it was a difficult decision but had to be done for the strength of the company.  Seventy-five jobs will be lost when Jewel closes its doors for good on March 2nd.  The store had been an Eagle Country Market for many years before that chain went into bankruptcy in 2000 and closed in 2003.  The store then reopened as a Jewel.
