Governor Quinn's Approval Rating At Lowest Since 2010

(Springfield, IL)  --  Voters may not think Governor Quinn is the man to put Illinois back on track.  According to a recent poll, 54-percent of voters don't like what he is doing.  Meanwhile, 30-percent do approve and 16-percent had no opinion.  According to the Chicago Tribune, the governor's rating is at its lowest since 2010.

Former SIU Student Pleads Guilty To Financial Fraud

(Jackson County, IL)  --  A former Southern Illinois University student faces up to seven-years in prison for financial fraud.  23-year-old Donelle Moore pleaded guilty to using an internet scheme to take more than 13-thousand-dollars from a California woman's bank account.  Moore was tracked down by investigators

after logging onto a compuer in the SIU Engineering Lab, using his university ID.

Elementary Student Caught With Cannabis

(Virden, IL)  --  A fifth-grader at Virden Elementary School is in trouble after being caught with cannabis.  Police Chief Scott Mayeda told The Telegraph the child was taken into temporary custody then released to his parent.  No formal charges will be made.  A school official says the student had never been in trouble before.

Wood River Dealership Employee Jailed

(Wood River, IL)  --  A St. Louis man is in jail for allegedly stealing money and a car from the dealership where he worked.  42-year-old John P. Jones reportedly stole more than 10-thousand-dollars from Auto Centers Nissan in Wood River.  Police arrested Jones after he was taken into custody for a DUI.  The car that he was driving had been reported stolen by the dealership.

Replacement Named For Retiring Boys & Girls Club Executive Director

(Decatur, IL)  --  A replacement Executive Director of Decatur's Boys & Girls Club has been named.  Bruce Jeffery will take over on June 1st.  Current Executive Director Walt Smith is retiring after more than three decades of service.
