IVCH limiting patient visitation due to flu activity

Illinois Valley Community Hospital is limiting patient visitation privileges, according to Gene Vogelgesang, Director of Public Relations at IVCH.  He says the move is being made in response to widespread flu activity.  Effective immediately, no one under the age of 18 will be allowed to visit patients at IVCH and patients will be allowed only two visitors at any one time.  IVCH is also requesting that people who are ill with respiratory symptoms either not visit, or wear a mask if they must visit.  The Illinois Department of Public Health says influenza activity continues to increase in the U.S. with widespread activity reported in Illinois.
