Single vehicle crash kills pair of rural Magnolia residents

A single-vehicle accident in Putnam County has taken the lives of two rural Magnolia residents.  The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office received a call just after seven Monday morning, reporting an accident on Route 26 and Clear Creek Road in Magnolia Township.  They say a vehicle driven by 22-year old Brandon Ransom left the road, struck a guardrail and ended up in a creek bed.  The vehicle flipped, ejecting both occupants.  Ransom and his passenger, 19-year old Stephanie Lomedico, were both pronounced dead at the scene.  Autopsies are scheduled for today.  An investigation continues by the sheriff’s office, Illinois State Police accident reconstructionist and the Putnam County Death Investigator.
