Princeton Park District receives 2013 yearly board agenda
At Monday’s meeting of the Princeton Park District Board, Executive Director Elaine Russell presented for review the 2013 Yearly Board Agenda, a listing by-month, of what board members need to make sure gets done. The board shared what they learned at the IAPD / IPRA Conference they attended recently in Chicago. They took part in seminars like “be a better board member”, “what your public expects from you”, “what your staff expects from you”. Among the recreation seminars was “putting on races” with their half-marathon coming up in April. Russell shared what she learned at the money seminars. While board member
Dick Volker was at the conference, he went to the vendors to check out a digital sports scoreboard that would be free, but would also require advertisements be put on it. It was determined the Park District doesn’t want signage of that form in their parks, so the scoreboard won’t be pursued. As for finances, Russell says they are right on target as they’re spending less than they thought they would have by this time. Russell says it’s a good time of year for the Bureau County Metro Center. She says the finances are looking up and the board feels good about that.
