Downed power line affects Interstate 80 travel near Princeton

A downed power line caused a bit of a stir on Interstate 80 this morning west of Princeton, according to Illinois Department of Transportation spokesperson Bruce Hucker.  IDOT vehicles, along with help from the State Police, slowed travelers down to around 20 miles per hour, creating a gap in traffic.  The line, which was on one side of the road, was then strung across both lanes and returned to its proper position.  There had been rumors of plans to reroute traffic to Route 6 and through Princeton, but that was not necessary.  The repair work was done and traffic back to normal shortly after 11:30.
