Putnam County fireworks accident hospitalizes McNabb man

A rural McNabb man is hospitalized following a firework-related accident.  The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says it received a 9-1-1 call at 6:45 Wednesday evening that a firework had exploded near Magnolia.  The caller said two men were trying to remove a tree stump using a firework when it exploded.  28-year old Brandon Phillips of rural McNabb was Life Flighted to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria where he’s listed in fair condition.  The other man wasn’t injured.
