Streator man in critical condition after van crash near Henry

More details have been made available on the single-vehicle accident Tuesday near Henry that required use of the Life Flight helicopter.  The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after 2 am they received a report of a van in a ditch along Route 26, just south of Route 18 near Henry.  56-year old John Wagner of Streator had been driving northbound on Tax School Road, approaching the intersection of Route 26, when he went past the stop sign, through the intersection, across Route 26, struck some trees, and ended up in the ditch.  Wagner had to be extricated from the vehicle and was Life Flighted to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  He’s listed in critical condition.  Wagner was ticketed for 5 traffic offenses, including DUI.
