I-80 traffic crash sends DePue man to the hospital

A DePue man is in the hospital after a traffic accident on Interstate 80.  According to State Police, 22-year old Jose Mejia says he was traveling eastbound at milepost 80 when he had to swerve to avoid a merging vehicle from I-39 northbound.  Mejia’s SUV went off the roadway, into the grass median and overturned.  He was taken to Illinois Valley Community Hospital.  He was also ticketed for improper lane usage.
