Weather-related power outages throughout the area

A wintry mix of weather brought trouble to area residents yesterday evening.  The heavy wind and snow caused numerous power outages throughout the area, forcing suspensions of at least two high school basketball games.  At the Bureau Valley Regional in Manlius, the game between Princeton and Hall was suspended with a little over a minute left.  Hall was leading by five points at the time.  That game will resume at 6 this evening. You can hear the conclusion on WZOE-AM 1490.  At Erie, Indian Creek led LaMoille 21 to 7 in the second quarter when the game was suspended.  That game will also finish up tonight.  Ameren and Corn Belt Energy both reported numerous power outages, with Henry County and Western Bureau County the hardest hit.  Manlius, Sheffield and Neponset all reported large percentages of customers without power.
