No injuries were reported from an early morning fire in the 600-block of Princeton’s South Main business district. Princeton Fire Chief Chuck Woolley says at 1:45 am, the department received a call from a woman saying she had spotted a fire in Habanero’s Restaurant. Upon the firefighters' arrival, the entire front of the building at 630 South Main was filled with smoke. Mutual aid was called for as well as a MABAS Box. Woolley says that brought them the equipment and manpower they needed to fight such a fire. Wooley says they had to evacuate several residents living in apartments above businesses to the south of the Mexican restaurant. He says none of the evacuated was seeking shelter, as they all had places to stay. No word yet on a damage estimate or cause of the fire, which appeared to have done most of its damage to the rear of the building as well as its roof. South Main between the courthouse square and Marion Street was blocked off as firefighters battled the heavy smoke. The blocked-off area was re-opened by mid-morning.
