Princeton Park District Board approves tractor bid
A new tractor is on the way to Princeton's Zearing Park. The Princeton Park Board on Monday approved the purchase of a 2013 utility tractor, a Mahindra 6110 with a cab, at a cost of $39,966. The winning bid was submitted by Diller-Rod in Princeton. Park District Executive Director Elaine Russell says the tractor will mainly be used at Zearing Park. The board also discussed their upcoming trip to the Illinois Association of Park Districts conference April 30th and May 1st in Springfield. Russell says there has been ongoing discussion about whether or not to take care of the Zearing Park pond and Metro Center pond. The board decided to hire Heartland Habitat. The ponds were found to contain curly-leaf pond weed. A quote of $2,520 was made to rid the ponds of the problem. The company will also continue to monitor the ponds with on-site visits from April through September at a cost of $2,313.
