Quad-Cities Experiencing Bed Bug Problem
Public health officials in the Quad-Cities area say a bedbug infestation is becoming a big problem. Terri Davies of the Rock Island County Health Department says they've been getting at least a half a dozen calls a week about the "pesty" problem.
Schools May Be Required To Carry Insurance For Athletes
Insurance to cover student athlete accidents may become mandatory for schools across the state. A senate committee approved the idea earlier this week. Former Rolling Meadows High School football player Rob Komosa unsuccessfully pushed for the measure for years. He was paralyzed after a 1999 football injury but the school couldn't cover his expenses because it didn't' have the insurance.
Today's Powerball Drawing Worth 320-Million
Someone could end up 320-million-dollars richer when Powerball numbers are drawn today. No one took home the jackpot on Wednesday so the prize jumped up 60-million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are
more than one-in-175 million.
Illinois Defeats Colorado
Brandon Paul and D.J. Richardson made shots when it counted as Illinois beat Colorado, 57-49, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Illinois came up with an 18-5 run, which was sparked by back-to-back three-pointers from Richardson and Paul. The effort pushed the Illini into a third-round East Regional match with the Miami Hurricanes on Sunday.
