A Princeton Park District Board member has achieved a rare honor. Executive Director Elaine Russell says Dick Volker recently was tabbed as one of only 12 members on the legislative committee for the Illinois Association of Park Districts. Also discussed at Monday's board meeting was the renewal of employee health, dental and life insurance. Russell says the district has been with United Healthcare for several years, and the new contract is a continuation of that relationship. They provide 8 full-time employees with healthcare at a cost of $4,333 per month. Companion Life provides 9 employees with dental care and 10 employees with their life insurance at a monthly cost of $490. Total cost for the 10 fulltime employees will be $57,884. That's an increase of $5,276 over last year. The board also discussed upcoming large projects, with the two largest being resurfacing the Metro Center's parking lot and seal-coating the walking track at Zearing Park. Russell says two commissioner positions were open and two people ran for the posts. She says they cannot be sworn-in before the canvassing of April 24th. So that will have to wait until the first meeting in May.
