Deceased Candidate Wins Township Race
Randall Boyer didn't campaign much in the last month of his race for Rock Run Township highway commissioner, having died suddenly on March 1st at the age of 59. Still, he easily won in this week's election, thanks to the efforts of his family who kept passing out his literature even after he died. Rock Run is sparsely populated, but covers more than 70 square miles. Township trustees will declare the seat vacant once the election results are verified, and they'll appoint a replacement from the same political party, the Democrats.
