If you have a debit card from Midland States Bank in Princeton, there's a chance it's been deactivated with a new one on the way. The bank yesterday issued a statement saying in the past week they've identified possible debit card fraud from a retailer in Northern Illinois. They're calling it a "breach of information". The statement goes on to say some Midland debit card users could have had their card number compromised, including some Princeton customers. Midland States Bank is apparently not the only financial institution that has debit cards affected. Customers who had their debit cards deactivated are being contacted by the bank to let them know a new one should arrive in the next few days.
