-- An Illinoisan swimming in a Missouri river is dead following a weekend drowning. Authorities say the victim perished Saturday in Current River in Van Buren, Missouri. The body was later identified as Lucas Mehler of Hutsonville, Illinois.

(Chicago, IL) -- Gay marriage backers from Illinois who support the Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act descend on Chicago at the weekend Pride Parade. Organizers of the attendance by the advocacy group known as Illinois Unites for Marriage say they wanted to promote
the unity of the LGBT community. They also asked for parade-goers to get involved in statewide campaigns in support of legalizing gay marriage.

(Prairietown, IL) -- A backhoe operator working over in rural Illinois is being credited with making a discovery of historic importance. A report by the "Telegraph" in Alton says an historic cemetery in Prairietown in southern Illinois was uncovered last week while crews were digging trenches for a new water line. After some investigation it was discovered the plot of land was once home to a church and cemetery during the late 18-hundreds. Headstones and at least one coffin was among the findings

(Unionville, IL) -- Two teenagers reported to have disappeared in Pope County are located safe and sound. Authorities said the two girls were located over the weekend in Unionville. The reason behind their disappearance wasn't immediately known.
