>>No Reform? Quinn Suspends Pay For Self, Lawmakers
(Springfield, IL) -- Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is hitting lawmakers where it hurts for their inability to pass a state pension reform bill. Quinn said he's suspending all wages to Illinois legislators until a pension plan for state employees is passed. Quinn said he's also suspending his own pay because until a reform bill is passed, the state will remain in a quote, "crisis." The Governor's office says legislators in Illinois are paid 67-thousand-dollars annually.

(Springfield, IL) -- State health officials say a case of West Nile Virus has been confirmed in Monroe County. Officials said this is the year's first confirmed case of the virus. Health officials said a dead bird was found to
be infected with the virus but it probably won't be long before a human case is reported.

(Undated) -- Governor Quinn offers a response to a recent survey that wasn't too nice to Illinois business. CNBC surveyed all 50 states for its "America's Top States for Business" poll in which Illinois finished 37th overall. Quinn promoted Illinois as being "at the crossroads of America," boasting a talented, creative and highly-skilled workforce.
