The Princeton Elementary board was unable to recall staff under the Illinois early childhood block grant because, they haven't received their money yet. The state's grant, which is designed to provide preschool education to around 160 low-income 3 year old to kindgarten age students in the area, hasn't showed up yet. Even though the board received the same grant by this time last year, Superintendent Tim Smith said there is no rush to worry however, he thinks the board can expect the money, and to meet in a special session, any day now. The board also approved a few changes to some of the language in its policy, including the addition of "electronic cigarettes" in the list of banned substances.
