Your electric bill is going down if you live in Princeton. The city council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the city code and not enforce stage 3 of a rate increase that has been in the code since 2011. City Commissioner Joel Quiram said the planned increase was scheduled during a time when the electric plant was struggling. Quiram said the good news is, the increase worked and there is no need to enter stage 3. Had stage 3 of the increase gone into effect, residents would see their bills go up by 3%. On top of rates not going up, service charges are also going down $5 and churches are now exempt from demand charges.
