Governor Pat Quinn announced yesterday that hospitals in north central Illinois are getting some much needed upgrades to the tune of 3.4 million dollars. The grants are part of the 24.3 million dollar "Illinois Jobs Now!" capital construction program to address the critical needs of downstate healthcare institutions. Some of the hospitals that are getting facelifts include Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru, Mendota Community Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in Streator. The grants for valley hospitals come in around $200,000 a piece, and range from IT upgrades to pharmacy renovations. Check out the full list of hospitals and upgrades below:
Bureau CountyPerry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, $185,007 for an electronic medical record system.St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley, $200,150 to renovate the pharmacy.
Grundy CountyMorris Hospital, $209,172 for new cardiac catheterization equipment.
LaSalle CountyIllinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru, $228,545 for a new CT scanner.Mendota Community Hospital, $174,400 for IT upgrades.Ottawa Regional Hospital, $232,235 for a Meditech Patient Care System.St. Mary's Hospital, Streator, $195,290 for new heating and cooling pumps.
Livingston CountyOSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac, $191,802 to establish a Sleep Center and Pulmonology Clinic.
McLean CountyAdvocate BroMenn Medical Center, Bloomington, $210,775 for roof repair and to acquire medical equipment.OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, $146,942 for equipment upgrades.
Peoria CountyMethodist Medical Center, Peoria, $496,030 for a new linear accelerator.OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, $833,485 to create a Surgical Holding Area.
Tazewell CountyPekin Memorial Hospital, $212,727 to renovate the seventh floor of the Patient Tower.
