The suspense is over for Illinois State Fairgoers. The ever popular "Butter Cow" was unveiled yesterday during a press conference in the Dairy Building on Fair Preview Day. The iconic cow has been an Illinois State Fair tradition for more than 90 years and Sculptor Sharon BuMann will be completing the famous, and edible, bovine during the first few days of the fair. This year's cow was inspired during a drive home from BuMann's home state of New York when she saw a cow standing in a puddle with a small bird sitting on its nose. The buttery beauty is currently just a rough mold but the sculpture is scheduled to be finished early next week. And don't fret if you can't make it to Springfield this year, the cow can be monitored 24/7 on a web cam available on the fair's website.
