Starting January 1st, Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton will end OB services and close the Women's Healthcare Unit due to cuts in reimbursement. The Princeton City Council heard the results of the Annual Financial report and audit of Perry Memorial hospital at their meeting last night and President/CEO of PMH Rex Conger said the "Affordable Care Act" from the Federal Government and the "Smart Act" from the State of Illinois has combined to cut $1.1 million worth of reimbursement funds to Perry. Conger said the decision was "very hard for the organization, but for the hospital to remain financially strong it was a step (the hospital) had to take."
