UPDATE: An official at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources confirmed that a 17-year-old Illinois boy was found at a Quarry next to Matthiessen State Park in Oglesby after he went missing on Sunday night. The DNR could not confirm the name of the boy or where he was from but they were able to confirm that he was found around 6:30AM today when a Quarry worker arrived at the office and found the missing boy. A search was set to begin again around 7AM after it was called off around 2:15 AM this morning. The boy reportedly got lost in the trail system at Matthiessen State Park while hiking with a family member and the search Sunday after he failed to meet his relative at the car. The DNR official did confirm that the boy is doing fine and did not have any noticeable injuries.
ORIGINAL: A 17-year-old boy was found just before 7AM this morning after various search teams and emergency crews were called back to Matthiessen State Park in Oglesby. According to an article by the NewsTribune, Illinois Conservation Police were called back to the state park this morning to resume a search for the missing teen, before he showed up at a park office just before 7 a.m. The teen reportedly "just got lost" and is believed to be from Dwight.
