A 28-year-old Princeton man was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison after he plead guilty to Unlawful Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Heroin).
Nathan Benavidez was sentenced on Friday to the offense that occurred in May when TRI-DENT (Tri County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team) recovered 68 bags containing a suspicious substance from a car that Benavidez was a passenger in.
The Bureau County Crime Lab analyzed 25 bags and determined the substance to be 5.7 grams of heroin.
This is Benavidez’s 4th conviction for unlawful possession and 2nd in Bureau County. He was also convicted for Attempted Residential Burglary in Henry County.
