Ground was broken for a brand new, $13 million dollar project for Abbey Fields of Saint Bede around 11AM today in Spring Valley.
Abbey Fields is an Assisted Living and Memory Care community that consist of over 60 units including 40 assisted care and 22 memory care.
Saint Bede Academy, longtime Peru Business Man Dick Janko and RPM Management are all partners on this $13 million dollar project.
Dick Janko of Janko Financial Group has been doing business in the Illinois Valley for decades but said “This is the most important project that he’s ever been part of.”
The community is located on the northwest corner of the Saint Bede academy campus and caters to seniors who may need various levels of assistance.
Abbott Phillip Davey from St. Bede said Abbey Fields is unique because it benefits those young and old by having older and younger people so close together.
On top of assisting the Spring Valley area seniors, it will benefit the local economy by creating approximately 40 full and part time jobs. Abbey Fields of Saint Bede is expected to be finished in fall of 2014.
