Lengthy Comcast internet service outage comes to an end

An hours-long internet service outage affecting Comcast customers in Northern Illinois, the Chicago area, northwest Indiana, southwest Michigan and Minnesota came to an end Monday morning. A Comcast spokeswoman said the outage started around 7:30 Sunday. Officials say any users experiencing problems connecting should turn off their modem and turn it back on to reset. Customers calling 1-800-Comcast during the outage were greeted by a recorded message saying that the company was experiencing technical difficulties and asking the caller to call back later.
