91-year old John Pogliano Sr. of Walnut died Friday at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 pm at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 am at St. John’s Catholic Church in Walnut. Burial will be in Braceville Gardner Cemetery in Coal City. A memorial has been established to the Walnut Food Pantry.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of Walnut, one son: John of Walnut, two daughters: Kathy Togliatti of Coal City and Mary Bickett of Chicago, four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
John Pogliano Sr. was a lifelong farmer in the Walnut and Coal City area and was a seed corn salesman since 1973. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was a 4-H leader for many years and a tax assessor for 18 years.
