Vivian May
Vivian A. May, age 93, of Princeton, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Perry Memorial Hospital, in Princeton, IL . Born on October 14, 1919 in rural Tiskilwa, IL, she was the daughter of Earl and Eathel (Elliot) Miller. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1937. She was a life long homemaker and also worked at Harper-Wyman, retiring after 26 years. On Sep 30, 1939, she married Glenn May in Princeton, Illinois. He died on March 26, 1969. She was a leader in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and 4-H when her children were young. She volunteered at the food pantry, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Bureau County Home Extension and Christ Community Church, formerly First Baptist Church in Princeton.
Vivian is survived by her four children: Sandra (Bill) Brown, Jack (Jacki) May, Janice (Larry) Isaacson, and Dan (Bettie Jo) May, all of Princeton. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Gary Husser of IN, Brenda Rolsing of Quincy, Cory Husser of CO, Matt (Stacey) May of Princeton, Glenn (Lisa) May of CO, Lori (Bill) Clark of Princeton, John (Elizabeth) Isaacson of Princeton, Brad (Sue) May of Peru, Eric (Christine) May of Shorewood and one step-grandson Jared (Heather) Sheppard of CO. Surviving as well are twenty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Roger Glenn in infancy, one step-grandson Brett Sheppard, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral service is Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM, at the Norberg Memorial Home with Brian Strom officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service begining at 10:00 AM. Memorials may be directed to Christ Community Church.
