84-year old Betty M. Ellis of Sheffield died Friday at Liberty Village, Princeton. She graduated from DePue High School in 1946 and married Glenn Ellis later that year in DePue. He preceded her in 2005.She had owned and operated the Stitching Post in Sheffield for many years and had also worked as a rural carrier for U.S. Post Office in Sheffield until retiring in 1989. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Sheffield, the Sheffield American Legion Auxiliary and Sheffield Women’s Club. Survivors include her daughter, Patty Osborn of Springfield, son, Jeff Ellis of Walnut; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a step great grandchild and a great-great grandchild. She was preceded by her husband, a sister, two brothers, and an infant son.Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 at First United Church of Christ, Sheffield. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to First United Church of Christ, Sheffield.
