Funeral service for Elsie Jean Jackson, age 74 of Princeton, will be Tuesday, Apr 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Burial will follow in the Prairie Repose Cemetery in Dover on Apr 30, 2013. The family will receive friends on Monday, Apr 29, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home.
Mrs. Jackson passed away on Thursday, Apr 25, 2013 at Colonial Rehab and Nursing Center in Princeton. She was born on Aug 31, 1938 in Ohio, Illinois to John Carl and Matilda (Miller) Erickson. She graduated from Bureau Township High School. She was a member of Dover Bible Church. She married Robert James Jackson on April 5, 1958 in Manlius, Il. He died on Jan 17, 2007. She was a life long homemaker. Elsie was a youth group leader at Van Orin Gospel Church for several years, was a member of the Dover Women's Fellowship and was a life member of the Bureau County Fair.
She is survived by her children: Judy (Tim) Harris, Jerry (Patti) Jackson, Larry (Joan) Jackson and Loren Jackson, all of Princeton. Also surviving are grandchildren: Aaron Harris, Scott (April) Jackson, Bryan Jackson, Quille Jackson, Jacob, Aliyah and Ernie, Ben and Brody Jackson and Angelica and Julia Jones all of Princeton, and Jennifer (Andy) Slivka of Chicago Heights.Surviving as well are sisters Alice Morris, Helen (Gary) Vaughn and one brother Robert Erickson, all of Princeton.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, one granddaughter Mary Jackson-Knuth, brothers Russell, Arthur and Jack Erickson and sisters Margaret Schaill, Martha Hoffman and Minnie Shipp.
