Derrick S. Tate, age 39, of Mark, Illinois died Thursday September 19, 2013 at St. Margaret Hospital in Spring Valley, Illinois.
Derrick was born on February 9, 1974 in Barstow, Florida the son of Lee Tate and Sue Sarver. He was united in marriage to Kasie Lindburgh on March 22, 2008 in Nevada. He was employed at Peru Home Entertainment. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, playing pool and hanging out with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Kasie Tate of Mark, Illinois; one son Braden Tate of Ottawa, Illinois; his parents Sue and Rick Maynard of Tiskilwa, Illinois, Lee Tate of LaMoille, Illinois; two brothers Denny Tate of Princeton, Illinois, Josh (Erica) Maynard of Lincoln, Illinois; grandmother Betty Maynard; mother and father-in-law Babette and Kevin Duncan; three sister-in-laws Becky Duncan, Jody Stites, Erica Maynard; two brother-in-laws Jack Stites and Tom Churchwell; and several nieces, nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Cremation rites were accorded. A Time of Sharing will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with Pastor Jack Stites, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Buda and the Rev. Mark Harkness, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Walnut, co-officiating. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home.
